Long Hair Paint Roller

Long hair paint rollers are roller brushes with longer bristles, typically over 20 mm (approximately 3/4 inch), and sometimes reaching 40-50 mm.

For high-viscosity, high-solids products, long bristles can absorb more paint, reducing the number of dips and improving efficiency in large-area application. For surfaces with high paint absorption or capillary pores, long bristles can fully fill gaps, resulting in a fuller coating with high coverage. A slight orange peel or texture is left after rolling, allowing for one-time wall finishing without the need for additional pattern rollers.

Usage Tips and Precautions

Controlling Paint Splatter

Long hair paint rollers are a major source of paint splatter.

Choose high-quality lambswool rollers, as their fibers better hold the paint.

Use higher-viscosity paints; thinner paints are more prone to splattering.

Slow down the rolling speed; avoid rolling too fast or too forcefully.

Do not over-roll the roller; gently roll off excess paint after each dip.

Thoroughly wet new rollers. Before using a new roller, wet it with clean water or a suitable thinner and wring it out. This removes loose fibers and expands the fibers, allowing it to absorb more paint during the final coat.

Use the correct roller application method. Due to the thick paint film, sagging is more likely to occur. It is recommended to quickly distribute the paint using an "M" or "W" motion, and then immediately smooth the coating with light pressure. Pay attention to the junctions and avoid overlapping too many times, otherwise it will result in uneven paint film thickness.

Thoroughly clean after application. Long-haired rollers often have a lot of paint trapped inside, requiring more time for thorough cleaning; otherwise, it will harden and become unusable after drying.
